Lise Revol has been crowned the winner of the Tour of Flanders Women U19. The French rider secured victory in a three-way sprint. Edda Bieberle finished second, with Thaïs Poirier completing the podium.

The 5th edition of the Tour of Flanders U19 Women started at 13.30 in the afternoon. On a very warm Sunday afternoon, the riders set off in and around Oudenaarde for a 74 km race, with the Achterberg and the Wolvenberg among the decisive climbs.

The race got off to a quiet start with no early breakaway. It wasn’t until the final climb of the Achterberg that the first attack came. Spurred on by Baud (France National Team), the peloton was whittled down to a group of around twenty riders. The French rider then tried a solo breakaway, but was quickly reeled back in.

A larger group managed to rejoin, meaning we entered the final with around forty riders. Støvern (Airtox – Carl Ras) launched an attack and, after the Varent, was joined by her teammate Bieberle and the France National Team duo, Poirier and Revol.

On the Wolvenberg, Støvern was dropped, after which the remaining trio headed for the finish in Oudenaarde. Poirier led out the sprint for her teammate, who finished it off convincingly. Revol, a former world champion cyclo-cross in the youth category, was able to claim victory in the Tour of Flanders U19 Women. Bieberle finished in second place, with Poirier coming third.
