Stan Jammaer has won the Tour of Flanders Men U17. The Belgian proved to be the strongest in Oudenaarde, after a thrilling sprint. Eliott Richard and Rhys Vancom completed the podium.

The Market Square in Oudenaarde set the scene for the fifth edition of the Tour of Flanders Men U17. Under the beaming sun, the riders took off on a 73-kilometre ride through the Flemish Ardennes.

In the opening stages, Maillard (R EV Cycling Team) et Rensonnet (Velo Club Ardennes) launched an attack. The duo led the early breakaway and built up a lead of almost a minute. On the first passage of the Varent, Rensonnet went off on his own. In the chase, Peers (Crabbé-DSTNY) was very active, but Rensonnet resisted strongly.

On the final passage of the Achterberg, there were a few accelerations in the peloton, reducing the gap to 30 seconds. With 14 km to go, Rensonnet was caught by a group of four riders who had broken away from the peloton. The quintet headed towards the finish in Oudenaarde with a narrow lead.

In full finale, with the climbs of the Varent and the Wolvenberg, the leading group gradually thinned out until the peloton caught up again at 4 km from the finish. Peers launched a late attack in the final kilometre, but to no avail. Jammaer (Crabbé-DSTNY) won a thrilling sprint ahead of Richard (Team Houdart) and Vancom (Velo Club Ardennes).
