Aisling Charlesworth proved to be the strongest in the Tour of Flanders Women U17. The British rider won in Oudenaarde after a sprint. Lilly Temar finished second, while Lotta Huybrechts sprinted to third place.

At 9.00 in the morning, the start shot fired for the Tour of Flanders for Women U17 in Oudenaarde. The riders kicked off the Tour of Flanders Youth Day with a race of 53 km, with the Holleweg and the Wolvenberg forming key points on the course.

In the first phase of the race, the pace remained under control with no attacks. It wasn’t until the final passage on the Achterberg, that an acceleration of Charlesworth caused led to the first split in the group. On the Varent, a second selection took place, after which a small group of fifteen riders set off towards the finish in Oudenaarde.

The two Slovenian riders Žalig and Bohak made a strong impression and set a hard pace. Yet no one managed to break away, making a sprint for victory inevitable.

In that sprint, Charlesworth came out on top. The British ride made her move early on and was able to add the Tour of Flanders Women U17 to her palmares. With Temar and Huybrechts finishing second and third, we saw an exact replica of the podium from the In Flanders Fields Women U17 race two weeks ago.
