Flanders Classics makes the Click

Flanders Classics makes the Click

Road  24/02/2023

Flanders Classics is partnering with the Click. With this partnership, the organisation will be lending its support to the Click rewards project which aims to make litter a thing of the past. Those who use the app to scan their own rubbish or the litter they pick up and who then dispose of it in the correct rubbish bin are rewarded with virtual points. Flanders Classics goes a step further and gives the top clickers fantastic prizes.

Tomas Van Den Spiegel, CEO of Flanders Classics: “We very often race in beautiful surroundings and we must look after them. There are litter zones for the riders set up in order to avoid the litter of a peloton. That we as fans also do our bit to look after the beautiful settings in which the races take place is only right. That is why we are happy to partner up with Fost Plus. There are a number of jerseys signed by our future winners in the prize pool.”

Prizes for top clickers

The Click is a new approach in the battle against litter. How does it work? You use the app to scan your rubbish or the litter you pick up before disposing of it in the correct rubbish bin. In exchange, you get Circular Ucoins for each item scanned. You can then swap these for vouchers from the partners in the app.

Flanders Classics goes one step further and rewards clickers with great prizes. To this end, Flanders Classics community has been set up in the app. So it is not only the fastest legs that win prizes, but also those who enthusiastically pick up the trash! Anyone who downloads the app “the Click” and then registers can join the Flanders Classics community in the app. This can do so quickly and easily using the PIN code 2010. You can find the Flanders Classics group in the app under the “Home” button > Groups.

The prizes are more than worth it:

  • Signed jersey winners of the men’s and women’s Omloop het Nieuwsblad
  • Signed jersey winners of the men’s and women’s Gent-Wevelgem
  • Signed jersey winners of the men’s and women’s Tour of Flanders
  • 10 T-shirts of Vive le Vélo x Flanders Classics
  • Duo ticket Flanders Gravel Koppenberg

Wim Geens, managing director of Fost Plus: “The partnership with Flanders Classics is a great example of how the organisers of sports events want to depart from the beaten track when it comes to their approach to litter. It is, after all, a shared responsibility. By integrating the Click into the wider operation, they provide additional tools and incentives to avoid littering.”

Sige Mariën, CEO of Unbox Benelux: “Those who share the same goal as the Click deserve our appreciation and recognition. The Click is about valuing activities that reduce litter. At Unbox, we are particularly proud of this purposeful partnership with Flanders Classics. The Click ensures a win-win for all. Building better societies is our mission.”

You can click anywhere in Belgium - scan rubbish and picked-up litter in exchange for virtual points. Active partnerships like this one with Flanders Classics have a snowball effect. The Click is a product of Fost Plus.
