Guiding the races deserves tons of respect

Road  31/03/2023

The riders make the race, but the supporters and security people make the race possible. Without them, no race and no festival. That certainly applies to the police forces and signalmen, who together form an indispensable tandem. Their directives are there for everyone's safety.

The vast majority of cycling fans follow the guidelines, but police forces and signalmen increasingly have to deal with inappropriate behaviour of supporters and road users on and along the track. By means of the campaign 'Guiding the race, that deserves tons of respect', the governor of East Flanders and the city of Oudenaarde ask for more appreciation for the work of the police services and signalmen. Because guiding the races deserves tons of respect.
