Clanging chains, panting racers, cheering supporters... Time and again, the Tour promises a cycling spectacle for fans and racers alike. From Antwerp to Oudenaarde, every supporter will be able to get to know the unique atmosphere of the Tour of Flanders close up. Supporters, unite!
You’ll find a wide offer of food and drink in every fan zone. There will also be entertainment as well as sanitary facilities in sufficient numbers. And when you’re at one of the zones, you don’t have to miss a single second of the race: you can follow the Tour on big screens all day long.
The impatient supporter is best off making his or her way to Antwerp one day earlier. As from Saturday afternoon, the fan village will open on the Groenplaats. Discover the trendiest cycle clothing and accessories there and relive last year’s Tour during the showing of the Woestijnvis documentary “Ronde 102”. Do you like a bit more action? Then sprint on over to the Velofoor on the Gedempte Zuiderdokken, where you can watch spectacular cycling stunts and test your own cycling skills yourself.
On Sunday morning, Studio Brussels presenters Stijn Vlaeminck, Linde Merckpoel and Jeroen Delodder will ensure a sparkling opener during the team presentation on the Grote Markt (starting at 8:30 a.m.). Afterwards, you can follow the whole race on a large screen on the Groenplaats (10 a.m. - 6 p.m.).
In Geraardsbergen, fans can gather at the foot of the mythical Muur van Geraardsbergen. In addition to the men and women, you will also see the juniors at work. They will finish a few local rounds and finish on the Vesten. As from 5 p.m. there is an after-party.
The racers will surely be grateful for as much support as they can get in the challenging hill section in the finale of the Tour. So come to one of the four fan villages in the Flemish Ardennes to cheer on your favourite cyclist. On the difficult Koppenberg, a little extra motivation will certainly do no harm, while at the Kruisberg fans can gather at the Malanderpark in Ronse. Do you want to experience the ultimate finale close up? Then you’re well placed on the Oude Kwaremont or Paterberg. Spectacle guaranteed!
The public area in Oudenaarde is right beside the finish line. Linde Merckpoel, Stijn Vlaeminck and Jeroen Delodder will have decamped from Antwerp to Oudenaarde to continue the party there. Enjoy the race with top tunes in the background and celebrate along with the winners. It’s party time!
