As this exceptional year draws to a close, Flanders Classics announces a new partnership. From 2021, BMW Belux will be the official car partner of the organiser of such prestigious races as the Tour of Flanders.
Flanders Classics welcomes a new car partner, namely BMW Belux. The collaboration will last five seasons. As part of this new partnership, BMW Belux will supply the course cars for the spring classics of Flanders Classics for the following five seasons.
“We are obviously extremely pleased about this new collaboration with BMW”, says Flanders Classics CEO Tomas Van Den Spiegel. “We are very proud to announce that they are our new partner for our races as of 2021. What’s more, we feel privileged to have been given the opportunity to work with such a pioneering brand, whose vision on sustainability we share.”
This isn’t BMW Belux’s first partnership with the world of sports. The group shares a passion for sport and cycling in particular, which explains why they were so pleased with this new partnership. Thanks to this fleet, Flanders Classics can also rely on excellent support on the challenging courses, which are paved with the typical Flemish cobbles.
BMW Belux is equally enthusiastic about the collaboration with Flanders Classics. “The sportsmanship and dynamics of Flanders Classic reflect BMW’s values”, says Eddy Haesendonck, the CEO of BMW Group Belux. “In addition, BMW and Flanders Classics share a commitment to sustainability, which we are putting into practice with the fleet of plug-in hybrid and efficient diesel and petrol engines that we will be making available. We look forward to a successful collaboration.”
Both partners are already looking forward to 27 February 2021, when they will join forces for the first time on the occasion of Omloop Het Nieuwsblad.
